2026 Gartner Heads of I&O Signature Flagship Survey. This survey aimed to understand success factors, challenges, and critical practices for the highest-level infrastructure and IT operations leaders in their organizations. The research was conducted online from April through May 2026 among 272 respondents from the United States (n = 179), the United Kingdom (n = 57) and Germany (n = 36). Respondents work in a range of industries in organizations with annual revenue of at least $500 million (the majority with over $1 billion in annual revenue in 2025). Qualified respondents were screened to be the most senior-level heads of infrastructure and/or IT operations in their organization. All respondents were directly involved in cloud adoption, management, or AI integration.
